Hi, Im Norman Aragones,
I'm a tech support specialist for a small office which uses 7 PC computers running Windows software. I had an interest in learning Mac support and began tutelage under Gary (Mac Guru) Pulis.
I grew up working with PC's. Its true that they are always in need of tinkering and help. I thought it was fun to play detective and figure out the exact cause of a problem out of the dozens of things that can go wrong with the PC.
Growing up using PCs, I spent hundreds of hours having to learn how to fix all kinds of technical problems. It wasnt necessarily all fun, however it provided me with the training for my current job.
I have to tell you I am blown away with the difference between the Mac and the WinTel world!
I assure you I would be out of a job if my office ever switched to Macs. I currently work there 3-4 days a week (doing my website business the rest of the time) and have spent a lot of time on emergencies where the whole office was unable to use their computers.
When I learned that I had to defragment the hard disk only rarely on the Mac, I said, "No way!?" Gary said, "Way!" I found this hard to believe as I have to defrag my laptop computer nearly every other day.
I want to use my knowledge of the Mac to help people set up systems that help them be productive rather than be frustrated. To have a WinTel machine is to live in frustration with your computer and spend more time having it fixed than getting work done.
Sincerely,
Norman Aragones
